Hi, I'm Emily.
Growing up on a small dairy farm, life was structured, precise, and held very little room for error. Everything changed in fourth grade when my art teacher, Mrs. Lucas, recommended me for a summer art camp.
For the first time in my life, I felt true freedom- a chance to feel colors, explore without rules, and express what was inside me on a piece of paper. I don’t know where those original projects are today, but I will never forget that Mrs. Lucas saw a spark in me that I hadn’t yet seen in myself. She nurtured a love for beauty that shaped the rest of my life.
Since then, people have asked me what my artistic "niche" is. My answer? I don't have one. I love to experiment, master new skills, and embrace the joy of making it up as I go.
That is the spirit I bring to every class at Arte by Emily. I bring my perspective, you bring yours, and together we create something uniquely yours. My job isn't to force a rigid technique- it’s to foster the inner artist that already lives inside you and your children.
We all have it in us. The hardest part is simply taking the leap and signing up. Come sit in my studio, embrace the mess, and let's create something beautiful together.
